Last Meeting Follow Up 

  • Julius: take picture of insulation material and send to Pete 
  • Send pictures of design tomorrow 
  • Salma: Make forum post about insulation bricks with sawdust 
  • Olivia: Have feedback on Bidjanga app by Wednesday

Collaborator Check Ins 
Bidjanga 

  • Testing wool as insulation 
  • Will have ISEC survey feedback by 8/28
  • Will have ISEC workshop with Raphael 8/28
  • Train 10 reps in 10 regions of Cameroon 

Hawazin 

  • 60 solar panels (priced @ $34.50 per 100 W panel= $2070 for 60 panels)
  • Prices are changing, add shipping expenses to total 
  • Question for Martin: Martin: discuss with the whole group, could possibly include fiberglass insulation; who needs insulation and how much; Salma does not need solar panels; Emmanuel: about $100 for a solar panel

Salma 

  • Battery is not as powerful as it needs to be 
  • Raphael: could be resistance of wire 

Pete

  • Michael F and Andrew is researching on thermal storage
  • Ajay received funding for thermal storage
  • Pete: iron pots could be new design instead of thermal storage; storing energy is successful in iron, aluminum, and steel 
  • Hawazin: is this design similar to Deepak and Prasad; Pete: yes same design
  • PSC 391 class starts soon; students group will be working with Peter Keller, Salma, Hawazin; lots of business students in the class

  • Peter Keller: Sawdust is not the best insulation, rice husks make much better insulation
