  • Pete: Metal Puck Experiment

  • Hawazin: How about using a smaller pot and place the metal chunk between pot and heater? 
  • 1L (2.7kg) aluminum puck, provides 2 hrs of thermal storage 
  • ideally want 2x the mass 
  • Aluminum puck needs a "flat bottom pan" 
  • Simon: flat bottom pans are hard to find in Africa 
  • experimenting with chainmail glove
  • 1 cm thick disk welding it to pot 
  • Crosby: have 2 separate pots, one pot unit with thermal storage and one without 
  • Suggestion: supplying two kinds of finished product, give them choices, thermal storage would be seen as an extra 
  • Nutritionally there's value to keeping something in a 60-90 degree range 
  • 2 senior project groups working on brinign a consumer ready product to market and liquid salt/xylitol
