- Using wool for insulation successfully
- Submitted a Stage 2 funding
- Working with Raphael Saturday
- Getting ISEC user feedback
- Comments on design
- Big handles will make pot lose heat
- Bucket is long, thin, tapered
- Not a lot of room for insulation better off getting a wide bucket that is shorter
- If you are going to use long, skinny bucket move the pot up in the bucket, pot sits in bucket and fill in empty bottom space with wool
- Insulate the top

- Pete: Metal Puck Experiment
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_5qlXdULQY
- Hawazin: How about using a smaller pot and place the metal chunk between pot and heater?
- 1L (2.7kg) aluminum puck, provides 2 hrs of thermal storage
- ideally want 2x the mass
- Aluminum puck needs a "flat bottom pan"
- Simon: flat bottom pans are hard to find in Africa
- experimenting with chainmail glove
- 1 cm thick disk welding it to pot
- Crosby: have 2 separate pots, one pot unit with thermal storage and one without
- Suggestion: supplying two kinds of finished product, give them choices, thermal storage would be seen as an extra
- Nutritionally there's value to keeping something in a 60-90 degree range
- 2 senior project groups working on brinign a consumer ready product to market and liquid salt/xylitol
Notes
- Pete is applying for sabbatical
- UNIV 391 class will be starting soon
