Baking in an ISEC? Empty Baking in an ISEC?

Tue May 18, 2021 6:23 pm
In my ISEC with thermal storage, at 175 C, I wanted to heat up two chicken legs. In the past, I would do this by putting them in a smaller pot and putting the smaller pot in the ISEC. However, the bottom of the smaller pot in thermal contact with the bottom of the ISEC got hot enough to burn some of the chicken onto the bottom of the pot it is in. This time, I put a small fork under the smaller pot with the chicken, to reduce the thermal contact with the hot ISEC. The result is that the chicken browned a little from the top and there was juice in the bottom of the smaller pot! Thus, we can bake in a hot ISEC simply by interrupting the thermal contact between the food and the ISEC... next grilling?Baking in an ISEC? Chicke10
